ProCoat™Corrosion Resistant Chain for Tough Environments
The roller chain is a common and dependable component used in vehicles, construction equipment, fishing vessels and many types of industrial and commercial applications. But not every roller chain is equal. For hazardous and environmentally challenging conditions, a corrosion-resistant chain extends equipment life and reduces maintenance costs. One excellent option is the ProCoat™ corrosion-resistant roller chain from PEER Chain.
500 Hours and Still Running
Saltwater is one of the most corrosive liquids on the planet. Just ask any commercial fisherman or shipowner. Saltwater causes extensive damage to steel and other surfaces, so you need steel components with a highly durable coating to extend product life. Laboratory tests prove the ProCoat™ corrosion-proof roller chain lasted over 500 hours in a saltwater spray test chamber — and that’s longer than competitive moisture coatings and nickel-plated roller chains.
What Makes ProCoat™ Better?
To create one of the most corrosion-resistant types of roller chains on the market, we start with high-quality steel then apply the ProCoat™ material to all chain surfaces, including the connection joints. We apply the coating before and after assembly and add additional lubrication as a final level of protection. The result is a chain that delivers the workload and tensile strength of carbon steel.
Industrial Applications for ProCoat™ Roller Chain
ProCoat™ roller chains are best suited for any application where corrosion is a problem. Fishing boats and other commercial working vessels must deal with salt water daily. Many industrial applications such as metal plating or chemical processing plants use caustic and corrosive chemicals. Material handling equipment like forklifts, conveyors, and overhead cranes used in commercial shipping operations must deal with saltwater corrosion issues. Cranes, front-end loaders, and bulldozers all require a corrosion-resistant roller chain to resist extreme weather conditions.
Quest® Upgrade for Extended Service
If you need extra durability and superior corrosion resistance, then you should consider the Quest upgrade. Our Quest solid bushing chain is 30% more durable than a standard roller chain. It is now available with the ProCoat™ corrosion-resistant coating to provide extended product life in extreme conditions.
ProCoat™ Roller Chains Available in 35 Varieties and Sizes
There are many variations of the ProCoat™ roller chains to choose from. There are 35 varieties and sizes of these corrosion-resistant chains. There are chains available in both single and dual strands and extended pitch attachments. Agricultural chains are also available with or without attachment.
World-Class Testing at the PEER Chain Technical Center
To ensure our roller chains meet our customers’ demands, we use our in-house technical center to test our chains for wear life, tensile strength, hardness testing and chain length. These are just a few of the activities taking place in our technical center.
