Eddie Segui Announces Retirement
A special announcement written by Eddie Segui regarding his retirement from PEER:
On March 29, 2013, I am retiring from the company. I take this opportunity to thank everyone for the opportunity to know each and every one of you. Just to know your names I know will make my memories of PEER Chain more profound. At this time, I would have worked for the company 39 years including the 35 years worked at PEER Bearing before coming to Chain 4 years ago.
My journey with the PEER family was incredible, including a 4 year stay at 1818 S. Wabash in Chicago when I started in May 1974. This was followed by 20 years of adventure in Wheeling and finally just about 15 years of action here in Waukegan. Overall, I can say that I am very proud to be a part of the company’s progress from when I started. I can still remember our accounting room, not much bigger than our current reception office, that accommodated an IBM machine, an NCR posting machine, a few cabinets and a common L-shaped work table that also served as our eating area. Lots of good memories took place.
In my employment, I’ve met so many co-workers, many of whom I have forgotten, but some have etched a lasting impression that I can recall their names even today. All are in my heart and their memories will remain to remind me of the past. The PEER Companies have many activities for their employees that everyone welcomes, occasions like the Holiday party, golf outings, family picnic, thanksgiving day, and department outings. I have enjoyed them all.
To work for the former PEER Companies was a privilege. I am deeply honored and thankful for opportunity to work for the Spungen family. To Danny, Debbi, Glenn, Jeff and Charles—thank you all for your brotherly love and kindness, for always taking the time to say hello to me. You are the best. To Sirs with love, Kenneth and Laurence—I always feel that you are two of the most important people I have met in my life and due to you, I have gained and accomplished something good. Thank you so very much. God Bless you.
