Is Welded Steel Chain Right for Your Operation?
When it’s time to decide whether or not a welded steel chain is the best choice for your applications, it’s important to consider certain key factors. First, think about the intensity of your specific application. Often, welded steel chains are utilized in lumber, paper, pump, forestry or agricultural applications because of their incredible strength. Welded steel chains are built to handle thousands of pounds of weight without breaking a sweat. If your applications fall within these categories and you intend to handle extremely heavy loads, a welded steel chain is a fantastic choice.
Beyond the intensity of your applications, it is also helpful to consider how frequently you will be using your new chain. Each and every use does have an impact on a chain’s wear life. Knowing how often you plan to use your chain will help determine which type best meets your needs.
Welded steel chains are designed to withstand serious weight for significant periods of time. If you are looking for a durable chain that can last the test of time, our welded steel chain is right for you.
Customers should also think about the setting where welded chain will be used. In the same way that weight and frequency of use impact a chain’s capacity to fulfill certain applications, its environment and conditions also play a role. Welded steel chains are built to resist a number of external factors such as inclement weather, heat, heavy chain impact and more. For a lumber chain or engineering chain that performs well in a variety of environments and conditions, PEER’s welded steel c chains fit the bill.
How is PEER Chain Different?
PEER Chain’s incredible supply of heat-treated welded steel chains is unique in today’s market. Beyond our classic welded steel and wide series drag chains, our experts are proud to offer a broad selection of high-quality chains that include the 81x Lumber Chain and the H Type Chains. Built for sorting and conveying applications, the 81x Lumber Chain is heat treated and suitable for a wide range of difficult conditions. Our H Type Chains, on the other hand, feature reinforced side bars that strengthen the chain’s iron links for optimal performance.
PEER Chain’s five different types of Rooftop Transfer Chains are ideal for long-distance conveying applications. In a similar way, Combination Chains are well-suited to lift heavy materials and classic conveying uses. While these welded steel chains are particularly useful in lumber, agricultural and pulp applications, Engineering and Sticker Chains are well-adapted to the furniture industry and waferizer applications. Options are available with stickers in the 2nd, 4th or 6th link.
Yet another option in our welded steel chain series is the 400 Series Pintle Chain, which performs best in medium-weight loads. Our 400 Series Pintle Chain is available in both heat treated malleable iron or stainless steel variations. To take it a step further, our 700 Series Pintle offers commendable corrosion resistance in humid or moist environments. This makes the 700 Series Pintle Chain well-suited for coastal applications in a variety of industries. Last but not least, our PEER Chain experts are proud to offer Drop Forged Rivetless and Caterpillar Chains. Drop Forged Rivetless Chains are often used for trolley or flight conveyor applications. Caterpillar Cottered Drive Chains are used to engage the rivetless chain. Together, they are highly effective in a series of low applications.
